Ordering

You can make an appointment for an MRI in person, by phone or by e-mail.

  • in person: in building C - first door on the right next to the reception
  • by phone: +420 745 311 200 (weekdays 7.00 a.m. - 3.00 p.m.)
  • by e-mail: rezonance@nember.cz

If you wish to enquire by email, then to rezonance@nember.cz. If you wish to make an appointment by email, you need to send a scan of the request form (voucher) for the examination and also provide a contact telephone number.

MRI scans are carried out on the basis of a doctor's referral. The medical referral (requisition) will be issued by the referring/treating physician based on the clinical examination.

MRI examinations are performed on weekdays and in the late afternoon.
Non-urgent examinations are also scheduled for Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
Urgent examinations are always ordered by the referring/treating physician in consultation with the MRI radiologist.
We have some of the shortest appointment times in Prague and the Central Bohemia region, as well as in the country. We perform MRI examinations on the basis of a medical referral (request form) issued by the referring physician or a general practitioner on the basis of a clinical examination.

As a standard, medical descriptions for MRI examinations are made and delivered to the attending physician within 4 working days. If you have a scheduled appointment with your referring physician for an MRI within these 4 days, please contact the physician to verify that the description of the examination has already been received by your physician.

Image data from the MRI scan is provided on a flash drive if needed.

Detailed information regarding the MRI scan can be found here:

X-ray

Ordering

Patients do not make an appointment for a scan, patients are examined on a rolling basis.

Our department - in accordance with the current legislation - does not carry out any examinations with ionising radiation (i.e. X-rays) without a medical recommendation, only at the request of the patient. The medical recommendation must be based on a clinical examination and cannot be issued at the request of the patient by a doctor in the field of radiology and imaging - a radiodiagnostic specialist.

If necessary, image data from the scans are provided on a CD which can be read on a standard computer.

No preparation is required prior to the scans.

Medical descriptions of the examination are usually made on the same working day, within 3 days of the examination at the latest.

Detailed information about the X-ray examination can be found here:

Principles of preparation before the examination

Before the abdominal ultrasound examination, the patient needs to be fasting. The patient will be told whether or not to drink before the examination at the time of the appointment; preparation varies somewhat according to the type of examination (focusing more generally on the abdomen or more specifically on the kidneys or small pelvis). Preparation is necessary before ultrasound examinations of other parts of the body.

The principles of preparation before examinations are well known to the health professionals who refer or book you for the examination, so if you are not booking yourself, do not hesitate to ask them about preparation. If you have an appointment and are not sure how to prepare properly, please call us. It is a pity if the examination is unnecessarily devalued because the patient does not know how to prepare properly - in an essentially undemanding way - for the examination.

From the above, it follows that if you have to make an appointment for an examination yourself, and if you do not find telephone communication difficult, it is always better to call in person than to have someone else do it for you.

Medical descriptions from ultrasound examinations are given to the patient when they leave the examination.
