Internal Medicine Department with an Intensive Care Unit

The Internal Medicine Department, which includes an intensive care unit, provides preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic care—both outpatient and inpatient—within the defined scope of its specialty. In caring for its patients, the department works closely with other specialised facilities, particularly Hospital Hořovice, the Cardiology Centre in Prague-Na Homolce, Motol University Hospital, and IKEM. The modernly equipped department features single- to triple-occupancy rooms with adjustable beds, private bathrooms, televisions, and Wi-Fi access. Welcome to the General Practitioner’s surgery page at Rehabilitation Hospital Beroun. We offer comprehensive GP services, including routine, diagnostic and therapeutic care.

The main advantage of our surgery is the ability to arrange any necessary investigations (X-rays, ultrasound and endoscopic procedures, laboratory tests and more) quickly and in one place, as well as our links to a wide range of other specialist outpatient clinics and the inpatient internal medicine ward at our hospital.

Our services:

1. Comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of illnesses

2. Preventative check-ups – initial, regular, ad hoc and occupational

3. Comprehensive administrative services for a general practitioner

- handling social security matters (disability, ZTP, etc.) and employment office matters

- Certificates of fitness for work, part-time work, driving licences, firearms licences, health certificates, sport, eligibility for secondary school or university studies, etc.

4. Vaccinations: flu, hepatitis A and B, tick-borne encephalitis, tetanus

5. Blood tests with results available within a few hours, FOB

6. POCT testing – CRP (test to distinguish between bacterial and viral infections)

- Strep test (throat swab, rapid diagnosis of streptococcal infection)

7. Administration of injections: subcutaneous (s.c.), intramuscular (i.m.), intravenous (i.v.)

8. ECG examination

9. Prescription of long-term medication following a request by telephone or email
