The patient has the right to:
- To receive all health services only on the basis of his or her free and informed consent. Exceptions to this rule can only be made by law.
- to choose his or her health care provider. This does not apply when the provision of emergency care is involved.
- refuse to consent to the provision of health services unless they are services that can be provided without consent.
- to be provided with health services at the appropriate professional level, i.e. according to the rules of science and recognised medical practices, respecting the individuality of the patient, taking into account the specific conditions and objective possibilities that correspond to the patient's health needs.
- to respect, to be treated with dignity, to be treated with consideration and to respect privacy in the provision of health services in accordance with the nature of the health services provided.
- the right to inspect the medical records kept on him/her, to take extracts, copies.
- to determine the persons who may be informed about his/her health condition or consult the medical records, to take extracts, copies, copies.
- arrange for consultation services from a provider or health professional other than the one providing the health services.
- to be familiar with the internal rules of an inpatient or day-care facility.
- if he or she is a minor, to the continuous presence of his or her legal guardian or, where appropriate, a person designated by the legal guardian, a foster parent, or another person in whose care the patient has been committed by order of a court or other authority.
- if he or she is deprived of legal capacity or if his or her legal capacity is so limited that he or she is incapable of assessing the provision of health services or the consequences of their provision, to the continuous presence of his or her legal representative or, where appropriate, a person designated by the legal representative.
- to the presence of a relative or a person designated by him/her, provided that the presence of such persons does not conflict with the internal rules and does not interfere with the provision of health services.
- to be informed in advance of the cost of health services provided which are not covered by public health insurance or which are partially covered by public health insurance and the method of payment.
- to know the name and surname of health care workers, other professionals and persons training for the health care profession at the Rehabilitation Hospital Beroun who are directly involved in the provision of health care services.
- to refuse the presence of persons not directly involved in the provision of health services and persons preparing to enter the health profession.
- To receive visitors in an inpatient or day-care facility, taking into account his/her medical condition and in accordance with internal regulations and in a manner that does not violate the rights of other patients.
- to receive spiritual care and spiritual support from clergy of churches and religious societies registered in the Czech Republic, or from persons authorised to carry out spiritual activities in accordance with the internal rules of the Rehabilitation Hospital Beroun and the department in a manner that does not infringe the rights of other patients and with regard to his/her health condition.
- if the patient is a minor or a person deprived of legal capacity or whose legal capacity has been restricted, to require that a person whom the patient alleges to be a person who abuses or otherwise abuses or neglects him or her not be present during the provision of health services.
- File a complaint in person or in writing. The procedure for filing a complaint can be found on the website at www.nemocnice-beroun.cz; the internet is available to patients 24 hours a day during their hospitalization.
- A patient with a sensory impairment or severe communication problems due to health reasons has the right to communicate in a way that is understandable to him or her and by means of communication that he or she chooses, including methods based on interpretation by another person.
- A patient with a sensory or physical disability who uses a dog with special training (guide or assistance dog) shall have the right, in view of his/her current state of health, to be accompanied and to have the dog with him/her in the healthcare establishment in the manner laid down in the internal rules so as not to infringe the rights of other patients.
The patient is obliged to:
- comply with the proposed individual treatment procedure if he/she has given his/her consent to the provision of health services.
- comply with the internal rules of the department.
- to reimburse the Rehabilitation Hospital Beroun for the cost of health services provided which are not covered by public health insurance or which are partially covered by public health insurance, if these health services were provided with his/her consent.
- truthfully inform the attending physician about the current state of his/her health, including information about infectious diseases, health services provided by other providers, use of medicines, including substance abuse, and other facts relevant to the provision of health services.
- not consume alcohol or other addictive substances during hospitalization and submit to testing to determine whether or not he or she is under the influence of alcohol or other addictive substances, as determined by the attending physician, when warranted.
- The patient, the patient's legal representative, a person designated by the patient, a person close to the patient, a person from a common household, another person who intends to visit the hospitalized patient or a person who asks for information about the patient's health condition is obliged to prove his/her identity with an ID card if requested by the Rehabilitation Hospital Beroun or a health care professional through whom the hospital provides health services to the patient.
Beroun Rehabilitation Hospital respects and supports the right of patients and their relatives to participate in decisions about the health care provided.
