In the large conference hall of the hospital several speakers took the floor. The main guests were Professor Ján Praško Pavlov, M.D., CSc. MUDr. Martin Hollý, MBA, who first presented the Mental Rehabilitation Centre under construction and then their contributions.
Professor Praško presented the topic "Possibilities of psychotherapy in complex patients, working with borderline patients". "Multidisciplinary approach in the care of the mentally ill" was the main topic of Dr. Hollý's lecture. Next, MUDr. Petra Uhlíková presented her contribution on specific mental health care for adolescents.
"We are pleased with the high turnout and I am glad that we agreed on the needs for quality care, its principles and values. Also on the need for multidisciplinarity and recovery in mental health care. It is not only thanks to this that we are ready to create and gradually add a wide spectrum of care for patients with mental illness. I would therefore like to thank everyone very much and invite you to the next conference of the Centre for Mental Rehabilitation, which will take place on 10 November 2022," said Martin Hollý, M.D., conference organiser.
"The conference gave us the opportunity to introduce the centre under construction not only to the surrounding area. I myself am very surprised at how many people from across the professional spectrum have gathered. From professors at medical schools, to staff of educational-psychological counselling centres, students, the non-profit sector, to doctors in private practices. The conference thus created a meeting place for all those interested in psychology," said the conference guarantor Professor Praško.
The whole conference was not only educational but also charitable. A big surprise for everyone was the presentation of a cheque to the non-profit organisation LOMIKÁMEN, on behalf of which Mr. Mgr. Jan Rohlena, who presented the work of the non-profit organization.
"Once again, thank you very much for inviting us to the conference and for creating a space to present the services of our organization. When my colleagues and I evaluate the conference in retrospect, we most often use the words human, friendly and professional. It was just so much fun. Since mental health is a major focus of our organization's work, it is not surprising that we have been following the emergence of CDR for some time with great anticipation. There have been quite a few "guaranteed messages" about what CDR will eventually look like in the public domain over the years, and they have often been very different versions. And we told ourselves that we would rather wait patiently for the final form to be decided. In recent weeks, the CDR has begun to take on more concrete contours, and this development fills us with hope that a meaningful project is emerging, backed by experienced top professionals who understand the importance of cooperation not only between different disciplines, but also between inpatient facilities and community services," said Jan Rohlena, director of the Lomikámen organisation. "This is the positive impression we take away from our joint meetings so far and from the conference. On behalf of Lomikámen, we very much welcome the CDR's ambition to act in the academic field, for example, by implementing other similar conferences. Such professional activity has been missing in our region and we see it as necessary. We look forward to further cooperation and wish you and the whole emerging CDR good health, strength and joy of many recovered patients," the director of the organization thanked.
"Thank you very much for the opportunity to attend the conference. It was great, professionally very beneficial and at the same time it was a great opportunity for me to get to know more about the environment of the Rehabilitation Hospital Beroun," responded Mgr. Lucie Rudolfová, conference participant.
