Vascular surgery focuses on patients with vascular diseases, i.e. diseases of the arteries and veins. The group of patients with arterial disorders includes patients with difficulties caused by narrowing of the arteries - i.e. patients with ischemic disease (anemia) of the lower limbs, with disorders of the carotid arteries, but also patients with difficulties caused by excessive dilatation of the arteries - so-called bulges. Patients with venous disorders are mostly those with varicose veins. Last but not least, the field of vascular surgery also includes the establishment of dialysis vascular accesses - so-called a-v shunts in patients with renal failure.
