Most of our clients are those who want to reduce their weight according to a doctor's diet or, on the contrary, gain weight and learn to eat properly. The appointment time is relatively short. At the moment, ordering times are within a few days.
Clients and patients can make appointments either through the front desk 311 745 272/144 99 or every Wednesday by calling 311 754 249.
The outpatient clinic, which is the realm of nutritionists Johanka Šlapáková and Ivana Křížková, is located on the ground floor of Building C, next to the MRI.
And what is the job of a nutritional therapist at the hospital?
In the catering service, he or she checks the quality of the food served, which is actually a kind of royal taster function, checks the temperature of the food, participates in the composition of the menu, supervises hygiene standards, ensures individual food adaptation, cooperates with the cooks and other staff. It may seem that the nutritional therapist is a kind of liaison between the hospital ward and the kitchen. At the request of a doctor or nursing staff, he or she arranges consultations, recommends diets, individual dietary modifications, and works with doctors and nursing staff. He also personally visits patients who need any of the above. According to the needs of the ward, nutritional counsellors prepare calculations of energy needs and expenditure.
What should a balanced diet look like for a middle-aged adult woman and a middle-aged adult man without a heavy sports and work load?
If a person does not have regular physical activity, he or she is unlikely to be as fit as a person who moves regularly. An adult should eat a varied, healthy and balanced diet 5 to 6 times a day according to his/her basal metabolic rate. The myth that one should only eat small portions is perhaps long since overcome. Someone needs more, someone needs less. Middle-aged people should pay particular attention to their mental well-being and to getting enough vitamins and minerals in their diet. Women, however, must take into account that in older age it is natural that fat is more easily deposited in the body.
Does the season have any effect on our eating rituals - our appetites?
Our tastes change, we don't like dense and fatty foods because we don't feel like warming up. On the contrary, we look for light, fresh food in the form of salads, smoothies, white meat, fish, vegetable soups, etc. It is said that spring is the ideal time to lose weight. The sun shines more, everything is greener, it's warmer. Optimism and good cheer are everywhere.
Inspiration for a healthy dinner can be our nutritionist Johanka Šlapáková's favourite, chicken noodles, tomato salsa and wholemeal pasta.
