Internal Medicine Department with an Intensive Care Unit

The Internal Medicine Department, which includes an intensive care unit, provides preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic care—both outpatient and inpatient—within the defined scope of its specialty. In caring for its patients, the department works closely with other specialized facilities, particularly Hospital Hořovice, the Cardiology Center in Prague-Na Homolce, Motol University Hospital, and IKEM. The modernly equipped department features single- to triple-occupancy rooms with adjustable beds, private bathrooms, televisions, and Wi-Fi access. Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

The intensive care unit (ICU) is part of the internal ward, it has 7 fully monitored beds. The ICU provides medical care for seriously ill internal medicine patients who are at risk of failure of basic life functions, or who are failing one or more vital organ functions. It uses modern instrumentation.

Outpatient clinic - occupational health services

Our outpatient clinic provides comprehensive occupational health services in accordance with the current legislation of the Czech Republic. We provide professional assessment of medical fitness for work and support the prevention of occupational health risks.

Services offered:

  • Health assessment for the assessment of fitness for work
  • Regular supervision of the workplace and work performance
  • Occupational health and safety advice
  • Voluntary health promotion programme

Types of occupational health examinations:

Initial occupational medical examinations
Health assessment before employment or transfer to another job.

Periodic occupational medical examinations
Periodic assessment of the health status of employees according to the risk of the work performed in categories 1-4.

Extraordinary occupational medical examinations
Carried out mainly after sick leave of more than 8 weeks, and at the request of the employer or the employee.

Exit occupational health examinations:

On termination of the employment relationship.

Subsequent occupational health examinations

Carried out for the early detection of changes in health arising from work.

What to bring to an occupational health examination:

  • ID card (or other proof of identity)
  • an extract from the medical records of the registering GP
  • a request form from the employer (if issued)
  • glasses or contact lenses (if you wear them)
  • reports of specialist examinations and medical findings (requested by the factory doctor, reports of examinations under factory care for risk categories, if recent reports from treating specialists)
  • morning urine
