"We are very happy about the donation and we want to thank Babíkov very much. It's amazing that they found the time and energy to make these aids just for our patients," says Veronika Irová, a station nurse at the Aftercare Department of the Beroun Hospital .
This ward treats patients after acute strokes, after musculoskeletal surgeries, but also people suffering from dementia, aphasia or limb mobility disorders. "Training fine motor skills is very important for our clients and the octopuses are an ideal tool for this. The soft material makes them easy to handle and patients use them to exercise their upper limbs," explains Irová.
In addition to the octopuses, patients also use horseshoe-shaped pillows, which help not only with sleeping but also with positioning, which prevents decubitus ulcers and muscle contractures. They are soft, warm and the patients really like them," adds Veronika Irová.
