A red rose as a symbolic presentation of great thanks for the hard, patient and dedicated work for nurses and other nursing staff. This is how the Rehabilitation Hospital Beroun commemorated the holiday celebrated worldwide since 1965 - International Nurses' Day on 12 May.
Its creation is linked to the date of birth of Florence Nightingale (12 May 1820), who essentially laid the first foundations for the nursing model still used today and was responsible for the first nursing education. Her main motto was hygiene, kindness and empathy towards the sick. "Hygiene is a given, and I am very happy that in our hospital it is the same with kindness and empathy towards patients. It is not a platitude that the profession of nurses and other health care workers is a mission, and I am convinced that in the vast majority this is true for our staff," said hospital director Natasha Petsini, adding that she is really proud to have such co-workers. She is therefore very happy that this holiday exists, when the word of thanks for dedication, commitment and quality work, often in very difficult situations, can be heard officially. A beautiful modern hospital, equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, would certainly not have such a good reputation as the one in Beroun without quality employees.
