Celebrating International Nurses' Day

12. 5. 2022

Since 1965, we symbolically thank all nurses and other nursing staff for their hard, patient and dedicated work.

The origin of this holiday is linked to the date of birth of Florence Nightingale (May 12, 1820), who laid the first foundations for the nursing model we still use today. She was also responsible for the first nursing education. The main motto of her life's work was hygiene, kindness and empathy towards the sick.

"It is not just a phrase that the profession of nurses and other health professionals is a mission. I am convinced that this is overwhelmingly true of our staff. Therefore, I am very glad that this holiday exists, when words of thanks for dedication, commitment and quality work, often in very difficult situations, can be heard officially. Without quality employees, a modern hospital equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, such as the Rehabilitation Hospital Beroun, would not have such a good reputation," said Nataša Petsini, director of the hospital.

We are very grateful for all the letters and social media messages we regularly receive, which reassure us of the kindness and empathy of our medical staff. You can read the letters and messages sent here.
