"Virtual reality exercise enriched with game elements not only provides patients with a more enjoyable form of therapy, but has also been shown to improve motor function, promote cognitive abilities and increase motivation to exercise regularly. This makes it a great addition to standard therapy." explains the principle of virtual reality in rehabilitation Ing. et Bc. Marie Plecháčová, head physiotherapist at the Beroun Rehabilitation Centre.
The advantage is also the possibility of individual adaptation of therapy using different modules and the use of visual feedback, which allows for immediate correction of movement stereotypes. In addition, physiotherapists and doctors can evaluate the course of the exercises in detail and monitor the patient's progress over time.
Rehabilitation using virtual reality thus represents another step towards modern, effective and attractive therapy for patients.
