Dear Director,On July 16, 2026, I was admitted to the surgical department at Beroun Hospital for a scheduled cholecystectomy. I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks to the entire staff of the day surgery unit, led by Chief Physician MUDr. Petr Zeithaml, for the exceptionally professional, kind, considerate, and caring treatment I received during my hospital stay. This was not my first hospitalization or surgery, so I have something to compare it to, but I have never seen such an approach to a patient anywhere else. From the moment I was admitted and settled into my room, through the explanation of the procedure, the pre-operative information, and the post-operative care after being transferred back to my room—as well as the chief physician’s follow-up visit and the information provided after the procedure— even the follow-up phone call after I was discharged to check on my health and how I was feeling, and to make sure everything was okay—I simply have nothing but praise, and I won’t forget this level of care for a long time. Last but not least, I must also praise the very pleasant environment and, in particular, the air-conditioned rooms and their amenities, including the bathrooms—everything was spotless; simply excellent. To everyone—especially my loved ones, whom I care deeply about and who may need medical care in the future—I will highly recommend the hospital in Beroun. So I would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Zeithaml, the chief physician of the department, and his team many times over for their truly outstanding and unparalleled care, willingness to help, and attentiveness.

I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank you and express my deep respect and admiration for the demanding, complex work—often carried out in a stressful environment—that all employees, from physicians to orderlies, perform with immense empathy, kindness, and profound humanity. I personally had the opportunity to experience the work and meet the staff during my 17-day stay this past May in the Internal Medicine ICU at RNB.I was brought in by the ambulance service, assisted by firefighters, in serious condition. Despite all my physical limitations, the staff managed to treat me without any restrictions, just like any other patient.The daily visits by a physical therapist are a brilliant idea. Not only do they “stretch” and exercise a bedridden patient to the best of their ability, but more importantly, they advise on how to exercise and build strength, even though I am bedridden.The entire staff was wonderful; it’s hard to single anyone out.Perhaps Dr. Hojka, my attending physician, who—in addition to his unquestionable expertise—is able to explain my medical condition and its expected progression in detail and in a way that’s easy to understand.Also, nurses Lenka Miková and Martina Janečková—skilled, helpful, and, if I may say so, we “clicked” both personally and in terms of our sense of humor (it’s not just bandages, IVs, and pills that heal) and, last but not least, nursing assistant Maria Kutsin—her almost unbelievable care and tenderness in treating painful pressure sores are exemplary.
Once again, my admiration and many thanks for your demanding work, and my deepest gratitude.

The same goes for all the hydrotherapy staff, especially Ms. Z. Levová and her son Kuba—for their wonderful, compassionate approach to patients. For more than a year, with your help, we treated the wounds on his legs caused by severe diabetes. Thanks to this, he was able to spend this time at home with his wife, surrounded by his family and his beloved garden.
A month and a half ago, when he unfortunately fractured his leg at the neck and was subsequently hospitalized at the Beroun Long-Term Care Facility, it became clear that the damage to his legs had progressed to the point where it was no longer possible to reverse the condition. Last week, I underwent a rather complicated hernia surgery in Hořovice. The care I received was of the highest quality. I would like to thank Chief Physician MUDr. Zeithaml and his team for their outstanding care.
The evening after the surgery, I had a brief fainting spell, and within one minute of ringing the bell, a qualified nurse and a physician were at my bedside. After learning about the activities of the department in Building E, I immediately requested an extension for another week.
I haven’t regretted it for a single minute.

From December 5–9, 2023, I was hospitalized at RNB following shoulder surgery. On the second day after the procedure, while I was already in Rehabilitation Ward E, I suddenly collapsed and lost consciousness. As a result, my attending physician, Dr. Gabriela Chytrová, referred me to Hospital Hořovice for an examination, etc., etc. Fortunately, nothing serious was found there, and I was sent back to RNB for further treatment.
After my return from Hospital Hořovice, Dr. Chytrová took great care of me, constantly monitoring my health—and, in my opinion, going above and beyond her regular duties. In other words, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to her through you for her service and approach, and wish her and the entire nursing staff all the best.

Dear Ms. N. Petsini, Director of the Beroun Nursing Home,
Please allow me to express my complete satisfaction with the conduct and attitude of the on-duty physicians on November 10 of this year, from approximately 12:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Above all, however, I would like to highlight the prompt and professional care provided by the nurse who was apparently on the night shift while I was waiting for my family to pick me up after being discharged at approximately 6:00 p.m. At that time, a swelling had developed on my right wrist at the site of the SKG injection. I knew from my previous experience at the National Hospital that the nurses closely monitored this in all patients. That is why I knocked somewhat loudly on the door, which the nurse opened for me. When she saw my wrist, she immediately put a compression bandage on it, thereby preventing possible arterial bleeding and other complications. I am very grateful to the nurse on duty for that. She also advised me to apply ice to the injection site at home.
After this experience, I just looked at my right hand the next day as a mere formality, and everything is fine.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff at Beroun Hospital for their professional and compassionate care of my daughter, L.H., on Wednesday, May 31, 2023.
My three-year-old daughter needed treatment for her hand after a fall during a field trip with her preschool, and, as a frightened three-year-old, she was, as expected, tearful and uncooperative. Of course, this situation was stressful for me as well, because even though I’m a healthcare professional myself, in this situation I was “just” the parent of an injured child. In any case, my daughter and I were met with truly wonderful care—literally from the gatehouse, through the reception desk, to the staff we encountered in the hallways, the radiology assistants, and all the way to the team that cared for us in the surgical outpatient clinic.
I truly appreciate my fellow healthcare professionals, who—despite their heavy workload—behave not only professionally but also with genuine kindness. And I would ask that, if possible, at least this written thank-you note and recognition of their work be passed on to them. I especially appreciate how fully I was involved in my child’s care, the fact that there were no attempts to separate my daughter from me, and the kind communication directly with my daughter.
My daughter was treated on May 31 before noon; the attending physician at the surgical outpatient clinic was Dr. Milan Píša. Unfortunately, I do not know the names of the nurses, orderlies, and radiology assistants, but I would like to thank them as well for their care and kind words.

Hello, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you once again for the amazing care provided by the entire rehabilitation department. I was hospitalized in Building I on the 3rd floor. All the nurses and nursing assistants were very kind and helpful; they always made sure I didn’t need anything else before leaving my room. I truly felt wonderful throughout my entire stay, and it was important to me to know that no matter what happened, I had someone to turn to. Dr. Eliška Bečková always came in with a smile and helped me a lot; she took my unpleasant tingling in my leg seriously and prescribed treatments and medications that brought me great relief. All the therapists were also very kind and were always able to help and offer advice; the exercises were a great benefit to me.

Dear Director, After undergoing total hip replacement surgery performed by Chief Physician Dr. Pastucha at Hospital Hořovice, I was transferred directly from the hospital to your facility at RNB. Although the reservation was made on the very day my surgery was scheduled, everything that was agreed upon was completed on time—about three months later.
Before the surgery, I was worried about how long the rehabilitation would take and what to expect. I was admitted to Ward D2, where I was assigned a physical therapist named Kamila. This nurse is still awaiting her certification, but her rehabilitation care was nothing short of top-notch! Fourteen days after the surgery, I was walking pain-free without any major issues. It was just with a cane, but I was walking. She got me to such a state that three weeks after the surgery, I got behind the wheel and managed the drive without any problems. Even during the transfer to my place of stay, I managed the trip while seated. “Golden hands”!!
I’d also like to thank the entire staff. Starting with the support staff, who kept our rooms clean, the hallways spotless, and ensured a constant supply of drinks. The wonderful nurses, who went above and beyond in caring for us. Every day they worked hard to help us put on our compression stockings—and it was hard work—and 24 hours a day, they not only served us but helped us with everything we needed.
A huge thank you to Dr. Brabcová, who visited us in our rooms twice a day and took a genuine interest in our health. If anything needed to be changed, she did so immediately, without delay. The head physician’s visits to our rooms were not just routine check-ins, but expressions of genuine concern for our health. No one was overlooked. Nothing was done in vain throughout our stay; everything had a purpose.
My father, who has sadly passed away, would certainly have been more than proud of such a team of staff members as the chief physician of the infectious diseases department, and for that reason I thank you and everyone who contributed to my treatment. A huge thank you for my smooth return to normal life at the age of 69.

My name is J. K. At the end of November and beginning of December, I was hospitalized at your Rehabilitation Center. The reason for my decision to subsequently take advantage of the specific services (rehabilitation procedures) provided by RNB was surgery on my left knee (total knee replacement), which was performed flawlessly by Dr. Jan Kotaška at Motol University Hospital.
Today, a week after returning home from RNB, as I look back on my rehabilitation stay, I recall with great pleasure, gratitude, and appreciation the wonderful environment and the dedicated and professional approach of all the staff I came into contact with. In particular, I remember with great appreciation my attending physician, Dr. Dvořák, and the excellent physiotherapists—especially the high level of expertise demonstrated by Ms. Jana Preislerová. I also cannot overlook the impeccable care provided by the nursing teams and others.
From my perspective, all of them undoubtedly contributed significantly to the surprisingly rapid improvement in the mobility of my left leg! That’s why I was able to try out—and start—exercising on the stationary bike as early as the ninth day of my stay! Today, at home on the exercise bike, I can easily “cover” 4 km four times a day. My crutches are actually getting in my way now. That’s truly a remarkable result! I believe that, together with the other rehabilitation exercises I’ve learned, all the unpleasant post-operative limitations will disappear very soon.
For all of this, a huge thank you and my deepest appreciation go to you, the chief physician, and your wonderful team! I wish everyone, above all, good health and well-deserved joy and satisfaction from their work.

Hello, I’d like to single out two radiology assistants who were incredibly empathetic and accommodating toward the needs of my son, N. V., who is afraid of physicians. My son needed to undergo an MRI, which he was terrified of. Thanks to the radiology assistants, my son didn’t have to be put under anesthesia, and thanks to these two—I dare say “angels”—the exam went smoothly, and my son didn’t experience the trauma he had at previous facilities in other hospitals. I began coming to you after undergoing lumbar spine surgery performed by Prof. Štulík at Motol Hospital. Last year, I started having problems and was on Brufen and other medications for a year. Now, the professor has decided on a radical solution—surgery—and recommended that I undergo preoperative rehabilitation. Beroun was the obvious choice. I’d like to share my experience and feelings about your hospital with you. My praise and heartfelt thanks go specifically to the orthopedics department, where I underwent knee surgery on Tuesday, August 23, 2022. My thanks and high praise go to all the staff in this department—and by that I mean absolutely everyone—from the physicians and anesthesiologists to the nurses. In fact, my thanks go mainly to them—the nurses. From the very first moment I interacted with them, I felt as if I were on vacation somewhere rather than in a hospital. Their kind and pleasant demeanor, helpfulness, smiles, and care were remarkable. What I must not fail to mention is, above all, their compassionate approach, the smile on their faces, and—most importantly—their respect for the patient’s human dignity! It is precisely this human dignity that people usually lose in a hospital, but that was not the case here. Not once was my naked body exposed to the gaze of orderlies or other patients; not once was I left lying somewhere in the hallway just as God made me. This may seem impossible to you, but I’ve actually experienced this several times before, and it wasn’t pleasant at all. But that’s not the case here at all. The anesthesiologist, the physician—they all explained the entire procedure to me and what would happen to me. And now I’d like to return to the nurses, who were truly exceptional! They constantly asked us if we needed anything, tried to help with every problem and accommodate our needs, and never—truly never—did the smiles fade from their faces. I really hope my thanks reach them, because they truly, truly deserve it!
While I’m on the subject of praise, I can’t help but mention the quality and beauty of your entire hospital. It’s truly admirable what a beautiful complex you’ve managed to create. The outdoor areas, the park, the old and new buildings—it all fits together beautifully and creates a very warm and pleasant atmosphere. As for the interior spaces, specifically the orthopedics department, words simply aren’t enough to describe it. New, modern, clean, and fresh-smelling!
I hope my thanks reach everyone to whom they are due—that is, the hospital administration, all the staff and nurses in the orthopedics department, and also the reception staff on the ground floor of Building C, with whom it’s always a pleasure to interact, whether by phone or in person.
