A truly symbolic date was chosen for the consecration of the renovated chapel in the Beroun hospital - 11 April, the day of the Resurrection.

The chapel was consecrated and the first archiepiscopal Holy Liturgy was celebrated by His Beatitude Christopher, Archbishop of Prague, Metropolitan of the Czech lands and Slovakia, the highest representative of the Orthodox Church in our country and Slovakia. In a personal letter, he also thanked for the careful approach and beautification of the neglected chapel in the hospital, and appreciated "that the new owner of the hospital, Sotirios Zavalianis, on his own initiative offered the chapel for the use of the Orthodox Church, thus deciding to make a milestone in the history of the Beroun hospital, which is truly a breakthrough." He then personally thanked the owner of the hospital and presented him with a gold medal of merit immediately after the ceremony on Saturday. This was attended, among other guests, by H.E. Constantinos Kokossis, Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic to the Czech Republic, who, together with Sotirios Zavalianis, viewed with interest the revitalized premises of the Beroun hospital.

The chapel, which served as a warehouse for many years, began to be repaired about six months ago and the new owner of the hospital invested almost 600,000 crowns in its repair, including new stained glass windows.
