The reportage accompanied a patient, Lenka Pietrulová from Jince, who was suffering from multiple hernias. The woman sought help from our top doctors and surgeons led by the chief surgeon Petr Zeithaml, MD. The doctor undertook the actual procedure, which he also described as less usual because he found a third hernia in the groin area during the operation.
For this reason, Mrs. Lenka stayed overnight in our ward of the Day Care Centre at the Rehabilitation Hospital Beroun. She then went home with her husband the next morning. "However, if the patient had only one hernia, she would have been discharged the same evening," noted the head doctor.
