27. 10. 2023

On Thursday, 26 October, the eleventh edition of the Beroun Rehabilitation Day took place, a professional conference which this time focused on the topic of Foot Diseases - a multidisciplinary view. This year, for the first time, this prestigious symposium was held in the brand new hall of the Mental Rehabilitation Centre, which is part of the Beroun Rehabilitation Hospital.

Since 2012, the very popular Beroun Rehabilitation Day has traditionally been held at the Grand Litava Beroun Hotel. This year's edition was therefore exceptional in that the Beroun Rehabilitation Hospital was able to present it in its super-modern hall of the Centre for Mental Rehabilitation (CDR), thus offering more seats than in the past. This year the conference was attended by over two hundred people, mostly orthopaedists, physiotherapists and rehabilitation doctors.

A multidisciplinary view of foot disease was this year's theme, which was covered by a dozen speakers who covered the entire foot in content. Traditionally, the Beroun Rehabilitation Centre of MUDr. Jan Calta took over the organisation of the conference, which is headed by MUDr. Milena Kolářová, who together with MUDr. Ondřej Horáček moderated the conference.

"Good speakers are the basis and this year we managed to put together a very good conference again, mainly thanks to the nationally recognized expertise and the vast clinical experience of our guests who presented at our conference," said Dr. Kolářová.

"All lectures were very interesting and their thematic mix perfectly covered the discussed area across the whole medicine - from surgery to prosthetics to rehabilitation," added MUDr. Ondřej Horáček.

For example, rehabilitation physician Miroslav Ouzký, M.D. from Kadana, expressed his satisfaction with the quality of the conference. "I am a surgeon by certification, so all the lectures were very beneficial for me. I really liked the environment and also how the hall was quite fully occupied."

At this year's Beroun Rehabilitation Day from Průhonice, physiotherapist Mgr. Hana Pálková. "For me, I am definitely very satisfied. I listened to very high quality lectures from all professors, doctors and other experts. Personally, I especially welcomed the greater exposure to the activities of the Healthy Shoe Studio, which I know well from my practice. And then of course there is the diabetic foot or neuropathy, which I commonly encounter in my practice," said the physiotherapist and also highlighted the modern environment of the CDR hall.

The next edition of the Beroun Rehabilitation Day, which will be the twelfth, will return to the hall of the Centre for Mental Rehabilitation next year. However, the theme is still shrouded in mystery. "We will definitely bring something that will offer a similar thematic cross-section in terms of expertise," concluded MUDr. Kolářová, who also thanked everyone for their participation.
