The fact that the Beroun hospital is still being built and reconstructed is nothing unusual in the last five years, when it has a new owner. However, many of the works that have transformed the hospital into a modern and beautiful medical facility have not been noticed by the public, even though this is often very difficult - the revitalisation of Beroun Hospital is taking place without any restrictions on its operation. However, the extension of the rehabilitation pavilion, which was recently started, cannot be overlooked. There is still a huge pit where the old coal plant used to be and where the tall chimney used to tower, but the piles for the extension of the rehabilitation pavilion, rebuilt from the original internal medicine ward and the LDN, are already beginning to be placed. This new building will house two swimming pools for physiotherapy on the first floor, as well as a hydrotherapy area equipped with a whirlpool, a four-chamber spa and scotch spas. There will also be a paraffin heat treatment application. Two gyms are also planned on the first floor, one of which will contain equipment for muscle strength training. Last but not least, there will be changing rooms for the staff and their day room. The second floor of the new extension will be "gastronomic" - a dining room for patients will be created here, including refreshments - both for patients and visitors. The third and fourth floors will then house comfortable single rooms with sanitary facilities and a loggia. In addition to the above-mentioned gyms on the ground floor, additional gyms will be added on the second to fourth floors for individual physical therapy. The extension will follow on from the just completed Hall E, where the organisational and outpatient facilities of the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Medicine have been in operation on the ground floor since the beginning of the year, and work is also being completed on the other floors, which will expand the capacity of the department's beds, and there will also be the necessary facilities for physiotherapy.
In its final form, the Beroun Hospital Rehabilitation Centre will provide early and post-treatment rehabilitation in three interconnected buildings. And actually in the adjacent park, where work is also still in progress - there will be a rehabilitation zone for severely physically disabled patients, but also other spaces offering opportunities for rest and physical activity for patients of the Beroun Hospital.
