Due to the worsening current situation, the management of the Rehabilitation Hospital Beroun and the management of the Hořovice Hospital have declared a state of mass disability. We join the hospitals that have already declared this state.
The situation in the inpatient facilities of the Central Bohemia Region is worsening and the number of patients with more severe COVID-19 is also increasing in our hospitals.
Hospitals have had to undergo significant restructuring of their individual operations in order to provide sufficient care for their patients. A mass disability situation is an emergency event in which health care facilities enter into an operating mode where the level of care provided, due to a relative or absolute lack of resources, no longer corresponds to the normal standard of health care provision in the country. In the event of exhaustion of all normally operated and reprofiled bed capacities, the health care provider is no longer able to create additional capacities or to guarantee the expected scope and quality of care when further increasing the number of beds.
The hospital management will monitor the situation on a daily basis, and once the number of patients has decreased, the mass casualty situation will be lifted.
