This modern technology releases pressure that acts on spinal structures or nerve roots protruding from the spine. It is this pressure on various structures - such as a herniated disc, narrowed spinal canal, bone growths or spondylolisthesis - that causes pain, weakness or other neurological problems.
Precisely targeted decompression force
"Therapy using spinal decompression offers a non-invasive alternative to back pain treatment that relieves back pain of any origin, regardless of the stage of the disease," explains Mgr. Jakub Pětioký, DiS., MBA.
The purpose of the whole therapy is to relax the spinal nerve structures and soft tissues in various relief positions. The therapy is based on the targeted application of decompression force to individual spinal segments and takes place in precisely controlled automated cycles. The result is widening of the intervertebral spaces, improved blood flow and overall pain relief.
Individually tailored therapy
Spinal decompression can exert a greater pulling force than the therapist alone, while maintaining it for a precise period of time, which is not possible with manual treatment. "It is the combination of modern instrumental therapy with proven physiotherapy procedures that represents the direction in which contemporary rehabilitation is heading," says the head physiotherapist at Beroun Hospital , Ing. Marie Plecháčová. "A great advantage is also the possibility to tailor the therapy to each patient. Under the guidance of an experienced physiotherapist, we can thus make the most of the device's potential and increase the effect of the entire treatment," she adds.
What is needed to start therapy?
A valid FT voucher with an indication for individual physiotherapy in combination with spinal decompression, issued by a GP or other specialist, is required for an appointment. You can make an appointment by calling 311 745 000 or by e-mail: recepce@nember.cz.
