Each buyer could choose a category or specific purpose for the funds raised, from which a winner was then drawn. The winner was the non-profit organization Journey Home, which provides professional and supportive care to the dying, their families and loved ones. "We decided not only to donate the entire proceeds from the event to this organisation, but we also matched the amount to ten thousand crowns. Caring for the dying is very demanding and meritorious work, and the organization Journey Home enables people to live out their lives at home, with dignity and in the circle of their families," says Olga Oliveriusová, the organizer of this year's event.
The cheque for the financial donation was received today by Pavel Klimeš, head nurse of the home hospice Cesta domů. "On behalf of the entire organization, I would like to thank the Rehabilitation Hospital Beroun and all the employees and patients who contributed to this donation. The enthusiasm does not fade from us, and this is very good news not only before Christmas. We very much appreciate this financial help."
