Beroun Rehabilitation Hospital welcomes sculpture symposium

The transformation of the Beroun hospital over the last nine years since its privatisation has been ing. Sotiris Zavalianis has been literally unprecedented in all respects. It has been transformed into a state-of-the-art modern medical facility, which both its visitors and experts rank among the best that the Czech healthcare system offers today. In addition to modern equipment, very high quality care, humanly friendly and helpful approach to patients and many other positive things, its location in a quiet part of Beroun and its "framing" by a charming park are certainly a part of this. And it is here, in the hospital park, that we stop. The owner of the hospital ing. Zavalianis not only wants to have a hospital that is top-notch in terms of medical care and equipment, but he also places great emphasis on the aesthetics of the environment. So, among other things, he decided to enrich the hospital grounds with sculptures made of Horické sandstone. They will be created here during this summer - specifically between 25 July and 25 September at a sculpture symposium, whose sponsor is Jiří Fürst. He has approached several contemporary renowned sculptors who work in the Goriška sandstone and are mainly engaged in figurative work. The symposium will be attended by academic sculptors Ladislav Janouch, Eva Mičková, Anna Plačková, Laco Sorokáč, František Svátek, Daniel Talavera, Milan Vácha and Miro Žáček. Those who are more interested in fine art will be familiar with many of the names and may have already seen some of their sculptures. In addition to these artists, several art school students will try their sculptural inventiveness during the symposium.

The sculpture symposium in the Beroun hospital will be officially closed on 15 October with an opening ceremony, which will be accompanied by a catalogue with medallions of the artists and mainly photographs of the symposium and, of course, the sculptures that will be created there.
