The new operating theatre is designed primarily for procedures in the field of surgery, gynaecology, coloproctology and otorhinolaryngology (ENT). All surgeries are performed in a one-day care mode - patients can usually return home the same day after surgery. This approach not only reduces the burden on patients, but also enables more efficient use of hospital capacity and reduces waiting times.
Indications for surgical procedures take place in our AKESO POLICLINIC in Prague's Nové Butovice, which works closely with the Day Care Centre in Beroun. This ensures continuity of care and comfortable availability of pre-operative consultations for patients from Prague and its surroundings.
"Overnight care is a trend in modern medicine. Patients appreciate the opportunity to undergo a procedure in the environment of a state-of-the-art facility and at the same time return home quickly. This seventh room will allow us to expand our capacity and the professional spectrum of surgical procedures," mentions Jiří Schweitzer, manager of the Overnight Care Centre.
The seventh theatre will also newly support the development of specialised coloproctology care focused on the treatment of colorectal diseases at the Beroun Rehabilitation Hospital. "A team of experienced physicians will perform a wide range of coloproctological procedures here, with particular emphasis on minimally invasive techniques that shorten recovery time and allow patients to heal faster and in significantly higher comfort," says Július Örhalmi, MD, PhD, FASCRS, MBA, coloproctologist at the Hořovice hospital and chairman of the Coloproctology Section of the Czech Surgical Society.
The opening of the seventh operating room represents another step in the continuous development of the Beroun Day Care Centre and its efforts to provide top-quality care that is accessible, efficient and as responsive as possible to patients' needs.
