In view of the epidemiological situation in the Czech Republic, we recently started screening incoming patients and other visitors to the hospital to detect potential patients with COVID-19 infection. Before entering, each newcomer had to fill in a questionnaire about his/her current health status and was allowed to enter the hospital premises after taking his/her temperature. In an effort to improve and speed up the screening of incoming patients, the hospital developed the Akeso eTriage application, which allows all the documents to be prepared to allow entry into the premises before the actual arrival at the hospital.
"Akeso eTriage is a publicly available application in which the visitor fills in his details and thanks to the QR code he receives this way his passage through the control tent is much faster," said the hospital director Natasha Petsini about the application. "The app is definitely not mandatory, it will still be possible to fill in the data on the spot, but we will be happy if patients use the app, it will ensure a considerable speed up when entering the hospital," added Nataša Petsini.
The questionnaire completed via the Akeso eTriage app is valid for a maximum of 72 hours from the time of completion.
"I learnt about this option to speed up hospital admission from a friend. Since I had an appointment for a check-up, I took advantage of it right away. Filling out the questionnaire was easy and intuitive. In 3 minutes I had a QR code. I went through the tent this morning without much delay. They read the code from my phone, added my temperature from the thermal imaging camera and I was able to enter the premises. During the check-up, the doctor then verified the data in his computer," described her experience with the app.
