Visit to the sculptors

17. 9. 2019

Not only do our patients have visitors, but one came to the sculpture symposium.

On Monday 16 September, a few days before the end of the sculpture symposium, we had a visit from the students of the Secondary Pedagogical School in Beroun.

"It was not a planned event with a big goal on our part, but the meeting with Mr. Fürst was very enriching not only for me, but especially for my students. I was lucky enough to meet him three years ago. Now I wanted to convey this encounter to my current students. I teach art education at the school and I have 2nd year students from the teacher training college with an art specialisation. They are preparing for the art education diploma, which includes basic knowledge of all disciplines and art history. Classical sculpture is a field of study that they unfortunately do not have the opportunity to try in the school setting. There is only ceramics. So when I discovered your symposium a few years ago, I immediately took my students to see the incredible work live. They also got expert instruction from renowned sculptors, which is something they don't get to do. The hospital grounds themselves are really becoming a beautiful, inspiring space, and so the idea of coming back here and doing an outdoor sculpture workshop in the open air when the weather is good comes to mind," said teacher Lucie Luxová.

The weather was good and the students were able to see the sculpture symposium without restrictions. The hospital park is open to everyone. We will be very happy if it becomes a motivational place not only for our patients but also for students. The outdoor workshop is warmly welcomed by us.

The sculpture symposium ends on September 24, so if you are interested, come and see the final works.
