In the run-up to Christmas, the audience could enjoy classic Czech carols, foreign compositions and recitations of poems.
"As it will soon be Christmas, we have chosen mostly Christmas repertoire. There was a range of carols such as Ave Maria or White Christmas, but also famous world songs by Andrea Bocceli, Ray Charles and Frank Sinatra. We were happy to make the patients in this ward happy and to express our gratitude to the nurses and other staff for their hard work," says Marta Tauberová, director of the art school.
In addition to the director Tauberová, Michaela Hrachovcová also sang and recited, while the piano accompaniment was provided by Father Josef Jonáš, a Roman Catholic priest from the Beroun region. The sound was provided by the sound engineer Vladimír Šaroun.
The fact that the concert was a great success among the patients and the staff is evidenced by the words of the physiotherapist of this department , Mgr. " Our patients liked the performance very much, they were looking forward to it. And of course, so did we. I would like to thank the whole musical ensemble from the bottom of my heart, we appreciate it very much." Jana Černoušková, who is now the ward's charge nurse, agrees with her colleague: " It was a welcome distraction from the usual stereotype for the patients and for us. Every experience like this is very valuable for them, especially in the run-up to Christmas when they can feel lonely."
The Aftercare Department of the Beroun Rehabilitation Hospital provides aftercare and long-term nursing, rehabilitation and resocialization care to adults, especially geriatric patients, who are at risk of progressive deconditioning and no longer require the care of inpatient acute care units.
