New booking portal
Starting today, those interested in the COVID-19 antigen test can book an appointment through our booking portal. The portal can be found on the websites of the Hospital Hořovice and the Rehabilitation Hospital Beroun, where you can choose not only the place of collection, but also the exact time and the desired type of test. "We created the booking portal for the convenience of those interested in testing. At a time when the Ministry of Health has called on the public to voluntarily test with antigen tests free of charge, we expect more interest from the population in the COVID-19 test," said František Vlček, MD, Director for Processes, Quality and Efficiency at AKESO Holding.

We will end the spread of COVID-19 in Beroun and Hořovice
"The advantage of the antigen tests is the rapid detection of the SARS-CoV2 virus, where the result is known within 20 minutes of collection. The test is performed by swabbing the nasopharynx and its reliability is high, especially in persons who are infectious at the time of testing. The sensitivity of the tests used has been verified in a study we recently conducted in collaboration with the 3rd Medical Faculty of the UK on a sample of 520 people. We are convinced that widespread and repeated antigen testing can significantly slow down the COVID-19 pandemic and reduce the need for expensive and restrictive containment measures," added Dr. Vlček.
Antigen testing for COVID-19 is performed at sampling sites located in the parking lots of both hospitals. In order to make widespread testing meaningful and to maximize the detection of positive persons in the population, we recommend repeated antigen testing, for example every 5-7 days, even if the previous test is negative.
The option to make an appointment for a PCR test is still only available for people with a request from a doctor or health post.
