An area in the hospital park has been completed to train different types of walking, especially over obstacles. The exercise track is only for practicing walking with a physiotherapist.
The track contains 5 types of surface - pavement, fine gravel, coarse gravel, sand and asphalt. Lines are drawn on the asphalt to allow straight and zigzag walking and tracks to practice the correct stride length.
Included is a "pyramid" of varying step sizes on which to practice climbing without the support of a handrail. Railings are then included for 3 types of stairs with different heights. In another area, the crossing of obstacles of different heights and widths is practiced.
The last part, but all the more important, is the door to the regular bus, which allows, especially for spastic patients, to practice getting on and off the vehicle.
The idea of such a training area was conceived in the 1980s at the clinic of Prof. V. Janda and unfortunately it has been implemented only today.
