Closing Ceremony of the 3rd Sculpture Symposium

On Saturday, October 20, the sculpture symposium was officially closed at the Rehabilitation Hospital Beroun. Eight sculptors took part in this year's event and stylized their works to the theme of the Medieval Legend.

The closing ceremony took place in the place where all the sculptures of the symposium are located, in the park of the Beroun hospital. During the sunny afternoon, not only the authors of the works, but also the owner of the Rehabilitation Hospital Beroun Ing. Sotirios Zavalianis. "I wish visitors to the hospital to visit the park and experience for themselves the relaxation, release and healing of the soul that the beautiful spaces offer," says the owner. "The hospital park has become a place where you not only get mental well-being but also an aesthetic experience, an open-air gallery," he adds.

Michal Blažek took first place with the expert jury with his sculpture Nirvana, which he was inspired to create while working in Cambodia. The Audience Award went to Andrej Néméth with his work Silver Mine, a sculpture depicting Kutná Hora miners mining silver.

The programme included a performance by the dance group Rytmus Úvaly, dance champions of the Czech Republic at the Czech Dance Masters competition cycle, and the whole afternoon the visitors were entertained by the James Band, an orchestral band, whose tones complemented the cultural meeting of all art lovers.

The symposium was attended by sculptors: Barbora Blahutová, Andrej Neméth, Michal Blažek, Denis Anfilov, Miroslav Žáčok, Martina Chloupá, Rastislav Jacko and Anna Wernerová. As every year, the organizer was sculptor Jiří Fürst.
