Can help with a range of health problems

The Beroun Rehabilitation Hospital has had a specialized acupuncture clinic for more than three years. The clinic is part of the Rehabilitation Center and acupuncture is in many cases a significant complementary treatment for all diseases treated here. However, patients can also come to this clinic for a variety of other health problems. MUDr. Milena Kolářová, who works, among other things, in the acupuncture office, reminded us that from her many years of practice she has a lot of evidence that acupuncture treatment can very effectively relieve years of severe attacks of migraines, some allergies, eczema, sleep disorders and much more."However, it is always necessary to examine the patient thoroughly at the start of treatment and in some cases it is advisable to obtain prior documentation of the treatment. The first visit is therefore always a consultation on the general state of health and a recommendation of the appropriate course of action," says MUDr. Kolářová. She adds that patients are often surprised at how this old method of treatment can relieve them, reduce the doses of drugs they have had to take for a long time for pain, shorten the period of illness and convalescence and, last but not least, help as prevention, strengthen immunity and induce physical and psychological well-being.

Yes, acupuncture is probably the oldest healing method in the world, it has been used for several thousand years. It originated in China and came to Europe in the 17th century, but it was not until the first half of the 20th century that acupuncture became more widespread here. Specialised acupuncture clinics began to expand in this country after 1989. It was then that MUDr. Kolářová also began to systematically become more familiar with acupuncture. It should be emphasized that acupuncture cannot be performed by everyone, this method is intended only for doctors with specialization in one of the clinical fields, after special training. MUDr. Milena Kolářová has undergone a number of training courses, including those taught by specialists directly from China. She also acquired her skills during her several years of work in a clinic in Germany.

The method of inserting disposable needles into the appropriate acupuncture points, mostly located on one of the 14 pathways, the so-called meridians, is naturally very sophisticated, given the time of its development. Very briefly, this treatment helps to restart natural processes in the human body that have been damaged or blocked by many negative influences or various diseases. Many patients of MUDr. Milena Kolářová could tell about it. And she, as she revealed, is always very happy when one of her patients comes to her with the message that she is "just" going to show how she has put him in "shape". Anyway, it doesn't come one application at a time, it takes about 5 to 10, depending on the severity of the problem, with a frequency of at least once or twice a week, but in some cases once a day. If anyone is afraid of needles, believe me, it really doesn't hurt, the needles are as thin as a hair and experienced hands can stick them in without you even knowing.

You need to make an appointment with MUDr. Kolářová at the outpatient services reception. This treatment method is not covered by health insurance. For the first initial consultation visit the patient pays 500 CZK, for each subsequent individual visit the patient pays 250 CZK.
