Central sterilisation

The central sterilisation department is a specialised medical workplace whose task is the pre-sterilisation preparation, packaging, sterilisation and dispensing of all sterile material. It provides a comprehensive service in the preparation of sterile medical devices for operating theatres and all medical departments of the Rehabilitation Hospital Beroun. However, the department also offers these services to many other interested parties from the health care and special services requiring work with sterile material.

Safety and control

All methods of disinfection and subsequent sterilisation are carried out in modern equipment with monitoring of physical and chemical parameters. Sterilisation always includes a written record of the washing and sterilisation process with documentation of the relevant chemical tests
of the individual cycles. Every month, the sterilisation equipment is checked using bioindicators and the sterility of the materials is checked microbiologically. Validation of washing and sterilisation procedures is carried out once a year. In terms of packaging materials and equipment, we use only packaging material produced in accordance with the applicable European standards.
