Four buses were dispatched because the interest in the trip from the employees of our hospital and the sister hospital Hořovice and their families was huge. The total number of participants was an incredible 211 people.
The oldest German Christmas market is being held for the eighty-fifth time this year. Dresden is literally full of Advent markets this year. You can visit nine of them and most of them are just a short walk away. One of the main attractions of the Christmas market in the Old Market Square is the Erzgebirge step pyramid and the Dresden Christmas Tower. The magnificent pyramid, which with its size of 14.61 metres is the landmark of this Christmas market, could already be viewed by visitors, but the celebration of the gigantic pastry will take place over the weekend. The 1.6 metre-long, 12 kilogramme-long pastry will be sliced up in the square, but visitors to the trip were still able to sample the treasures of Saxon bakeries and enjoy the products of artisans from Dresden and the surrounding area. Thanks to the winter weather, mulled wine in themed mugs came in handy. The next stop for most visitors was the nearby Primark store, which is known for its low prices.
Everyone found something to their liking in Dresden, and they all went home satisfied with their shopping and the experience the trip had brought them.
