On 10 June, members of the Central Bohemian Region Fire Brigade, Territorial Department Beroun, also intervened in the Beroun Hospital. Water from persistent rains threatened serious damage to the walls in the newly reconstructed Rehabilitation Centre. It was a rather complicated operation, which also required the use of breathing equipment, because it was necessary to pump out a lot of water from a deep shaft near an old sewer pipe with very difficult access, in an unbreathable environment. This successful intervention saved the owner of the hospital considerable value and extra worries about ensuring the operation of the Rehabilitation Centre.
The owner of the hospital ing. Sotirios Zavalianis decided to thank the firefighters for this intervention with a concrete act - he bought the Beroun Fire and Rescue Station a material gift - an oil suction set with a Nitrostar 2000-C pump, which allows suction of contaminated water even with an admixture of oil, or directly substances such as diesel, light heating oils, etc. The set is additionally supplemented with a special suction mat, which allows flat suction of liquids, e.g. from puddles. The use of the kit is in the removal of oil accidents in traffic accidents, in the liquidation of the consequences of floods, or in the reduction of subsequent damage after fires.
The donation was officially handed over on 20 November 2013 on the hospital premises in the presence of the owner of the hospital ing. Sotirios Zavalianis and the Station Commander of the Beroun Fire Brigade mjr. Ing. Tomáš Hradil. During the subsequent informal meeting in the building of the hospital headquarters ing. Hradil not only presented the possibilities and importance of the equipment that the owner of the hospital handed over to the firefighters, but also talked about many issues related to the work of the firefighters, as well as the possibilities of further cooperation between the hospital and the Beroun firefighters.
