"I left the rehabilitation with my family and my colleague and her boyfriend, who also works with us," says Petra Bramborová, a physiotherapist at the Beroun Rehabilitation Centre. "The tourist guidebook says that it hardly rains on Kos, which we had the opportunity to see for ourselves, because it rained a bit only on the last day of our stay, perhaps so that we wouldn't be sorry to have to go home. We stayed at the Atlantis Hotel, where we were comfortable - beach at the hotel, swimming pools, good Greek food and various animation programs for children and adults. Because of my friend - colleague's health problems, we could see that the hotel staff, including the management, are very helpful and nice people. During the week we had the opportunity to regain fresh strength, which we sometimes lack so much in our work," adds Mrs. Bramborová.
The island of Kos was chosen partly because of its symbolism - it is the place where the most famous doctor of all times, the ancient Hippocrates, was born and worked, but also because it is one of the most beautiful Greek resorts. The Atlantis hotel complex, located right on the beach, is set in well-kept gardens with exotic flora and palm trees. Near the hotel is the centre of the famous resort of Lambi, where there are many excellent restaurants, tavernas, bars and shops.
"I really liked my stay and my daughter Veronika and I enjoyed it very much," says Ludmila Sládková, sister of the Beroun intern, about her impressions from her holiday in Kos. "We had a beautiful hotel on the beach with a large garden and excellent food. There was plenty of everything. The hotel staff was very helpful and nice. The weather was good and we enjoyed a beautiful seven sunny days. Finally, I would like to thank the hospital staff and the hospital management for making this stay possible," says the Beroun nurse.
The health workers from Beroun and Hořovice were also able to visit the first ancient hospital Asklepion and other ancient monuments in Kos, which is said to be one of the most beautiful Greek cities. As evidenced by their photographs (see photo gallery), they walked past ancient houses, a knight's castle and embraced the legendary Hippocratic plane tree. It was possible to drive around the whole island in a rented car.
