International Nurses' Day was a real success

15. 5. 2017

Since 1965, International Nurses' Day has been celebrated worldwide on 12 May to commemorate the birth of Florence Nachtigal, who first laid the foundations of modern nursing care.

The celebration of this holiday was held this year at the Rehabilitation Hospital in Beroun in the conference hall of the hospital throughout Friday afternoon and into the evening. This was so that as many as possible of those affected by this holiday could come, according to their working possibilities. Not only were there tempting, delicious and varied refreshments prepared by the hospital catering staff, but also the opportunity to have their make-up done by two professional beauticians or to have their weight, BMI index, body water, bone minerals, fats, etc. checked on a body composition monitor. The interest was really great and it turned out that with this diversification those who organized the celebration really, as they say, hit the mark. International Nurses' Day is above all an opportunity to recognise the hard, patient and dedicated work of nurses throughout the year. It was very pleasant to hear from those present many times, in various forms, that they really enjoyed their holiday this year on 12 May.
