After the first successful Beroun Nursing Day last year, the Rehabilitation Hospital Beroun has prepared another one this year. It took place on 30 May, again at the Grand Hotel in Beroun, and its main expert topic was lectures on strokes. The congress hall of the hotel was filled with 104 participants not only from the Beroun and Hořovice hospitals, but also from medical facilities in Kladno, Pilsen, České Budějovice and Rakovník. The opening ceremony was given by an expert representative of Jessenia a.s. MUDr. Jan Calt, the moderator of the whole day was the head nurse of the Rehabilitation Hospital Beroun Ilona Kupková and the head nurse of the Rehabilitation Centre of the hospital Mgr. Interesting lectures were prepared mainly by experts from the Rehabilitation Centre of the Beroun Hospital, but the participants of the Beroun Nursing Day were also very interested in the lecture summarizing important aspects of nutrition in patients after stroke by MUDr. František Novák, PhD. from the IV Internal Clinic of the VFN Prague or the head of the Rehabilitation Department of the Municipal Hospital in Litoměřice, Zoran Neradžić, MD, regarding the concept of basal stimulation from the physician's perspective in the early stages of stroke treatment. Pavla Košková, head occupational therapist of the Rehabilitation Centre, presented two posters on occupational therapy and physiotherapy at the Centre.

The accompanying programme was also interesting, during which, among other things, a new generation of Biosynchron physio-mattresses was presented, and a lecture by the President of the Czech Podological Society Jaroslav Fešar and an introduction to the Swiss MBT technology (abbreviation from English, meaning barefoot Maasai walking technology) were also very popular. The company presented shoes with rounded soles, recommended by doctors and physiotherapists, e.g. for back pain, and many participants of the Beroun Nursing Day took advantage of the possibility of foot examination by computer, which detects the current state of the feet, the structure of the arch and the overall symmetry of the body.

The second Beroun Nursing Day was also a success and all participants took away not only a certificate of participation (according to Decree 4/2010 Coll. they gained additional credit points for their education). They highly appreciated both the level of the whole program and the pleasant environment and those with whom we talked after the end were very happy to accept the invitation for the next time. The Beroun Rehabilitation Hospital would like to make this event an annual tradition.
