Pilates – The Foundation of Healthy and Functional Movement
Pilates is a gentle yet highly effective form of exercise focused on the core, proper posture, breathing, and fluid, controlled movement. It’s not about speed or lifting heavy weights, but rather about the quality of execution, precision, and integrating the muscles into a functional whole.
“Pilates is suitable for both women and men, beginners and advanced practitioners, people with sedentary jobs, as well as those who play sports and want to keep their bodies in balance. It’s also very well suited as a preventive measure or for relief from back, neck, or shoulder pain, and as a safe way to resume exercise after childbirth,” explains Veronika Bartošová, a fitness trainer at the Rehabilitation Hospital Beroun.
Regular Pilates practice strengthens the deep stabilizing muscles, improves posture, flexibility, and mobility, promotes proper breathing, and enhances body awareness. All of this contributes to a lower risk of injury and long-term healthy movement. Classes are held in groups of up to 15 people.
Postpartum Group Exercise – A Safe Return to Movement
For women who have recently given birth, we offer specialized group exercise classes that take into account the changes the female body undergoes during pregnancy and childbirth. The goal is not to “get back in shape quickly,” but to restore the body’s functionality, strengthen weakened muscles, and build a solid foundation for future movement.
“The exercises focus primarily on the pelvic floor, core, and stability; they help close diastasis recti, relieve back, pelvic, and hip pain, and support a return to everyday and athletic activities. We place great emphasis on proper breathing, engaging the abdominal wall, and a gentle approach without jumping, sudden movements, or excessive strain,” says the fitness trainer.
Exercise is generally possible after the six-week postpartum period, provided the woman feels well and has no health complications. After a C-section or complications, it’s always best to proceed on an individual basis, after consulting with a physician, and no sooner than 8–10 weeks after giving birth. Groups are small—a maximum of 4 women—to ensure there is enough space for technique correction and individualized attention.
One-on-One Training—Exercises Tailored Exactly to Your Abilities
If you’re looking for a workout that’s 100% tailored to your goals, abilities, and needs, one-on-one training is the ideal choice. The training may include strength exercises, bodyweight exercises, mobility, stability, technique for basic exercises, as well as compensatory and functional elements.
“We focus on the core, glutes, lower body, back, and upper body, as well as specific problem areas and overall muscle coordination. One-on-one training is suitable for both complete beginners and advanced athletes—the intensity is always tailored to the individual,” adds Bartošová.
Thanks to personalized guidance, you’ll achieve faster and safer results, improve your technique, prevent injuries, and establish a long-term, sustainable exercise routine. Training sessions consist of 30-minute classes.
