Why practice?
As we age, there is a natural loss of muscle mass, joint stiffness and deterioration of balance. But that doesn't mean we have to put up with it. On the contrary, the right movement can slow or even reverse many of these changes.
"Our classes focus on functional and conditioning training of the musculoskeletal system using rehabilitation aids, strengthening muscles, improving joint mobility and maintaining overall physical fitness. Furthermore, we support heart and lung health in a gentle way and through balance and gait training we prevent falls and build safe movement in everyday life," says Marie Šroubková, a physiotherapist at the Beroun Rehabilitation Centre and head of the lessons.
Our goal is your independence of movement
However, the main goal is not performance, but independence in everyday activities, such as going shopping, climbing the stairs or enjoying a walk with friends or grandchildren. "Exercise not only strengthens physical fitness but also prevents injuries, which can be very dangerous in older age. Last but not least, exercise also has a positive effect on mental well-being and balance," adds Marie Šroubková.
