Huge interest of the participants, who gathered more than 200, lectures of many outstanding experts in the field of rehabilitation and last but not least, a great interest in getting to know the modern, state-of-the-art Rehabilitation Centre of the Beroun Hospital. November at the Grand Hotel in Beroun, organized by the Rehabilitation Centre of Beroun Hospital in cooperation with the Society of Rehabilitation and Physical Medicine of the Czech Society of Rehabilitation and Physical Medicine, with the financial support of Tipsport and Jessenia, was really successful. At the beginning, the Member of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, the former mayor of Beroun, Jiří Besser, came to greet all the participants and said that he was proud that thanks to privatisation, the Beroun hospital had secured a partner who had found a perfect use for it.It is quite possible that if the new owner had not taken it over, the hospital would no longer exist in Beroun. If so, it would certainly not be so modern. MUDr. František Véle, CSc., a prominent personality of Czech rehabilitation, co-founder of the so-called Prague Rehabilitation School, a "school of thought", in which not only Czech rehabilitation developed. We asked the medical director of the Rehabilitation Centre, MUDr. Jan Calta, for his assessment." This professional meeting was really successful and we consider it as the beginning of a new tradition. Two professors, five associate professors and many other leading experts in the field from all over the country prepared a truly unique professional and social experience. Our department prepared one of the four expert blocks and its level was certainly not lost among the other lectures. For almost half of the participants of the professional meeting, we organized a tour of our Rehabilitation Centre, which was met with great interest and during which we often heard words of appreciation. It was certainly gratifying to hear from our colleagues. Last but not least, it should be emphasized that not only the staff of the hospital and the Rehabilitation Centre, headed by the Chief Medical Officer Ondřej Horáček, but also our hosts, the staff of the Grand Hotel, participated in the preparation and successful course of the meeting. And for that we are very grateful to all of them."
